BioThis is an ORIGINAL CHARACTER ROLEPLAY JOURNAL controlled by the real person/LJ user AmberPalette, at http://amberpalette.livejournal.com/ . Please follow the link to talk to a real person. I started this journal because I have found it difficult to keep in touch with a handful of best friends who currently live long-distance from me but who share my fondness for the Harry Potter fandom. I use this space to post "as my character" in the roleplay journals of these friends.
For this reason, I consider this journal rather exclusive--limited to individuals whom I have known for several years in real life or, in some exceptions, on the internet. However, if you are a mature, polite Harry Potter fan who finds my original character and his background interesting and wish to interact with him in-character yourself, please contact me at my master account (AmberPalette), and request that this account adds you as a friend. I am open minded and accepting and will take on any individual who is civil and respectful of variant opinions within the Harry Potter fandom. Sadly I have encountered few such fans in this specific fanbase who match that profile in the past many years. However, there is always hope, lol, and I am always seeking fresh faces.
With that disclaimer, and the obvious one (that the Harry Potter realm is the SOLE property of JK Rowling), a background on the character portrayed in this journal:
Name Alexis P. Renard.
Age: currently early 20's.
Birthdate/Sign: July 14/Cancer.
Occupation: Transfiguration professor, Beauxbatons Academy, Marseille.
Place of residence: Paris, France, family's country estate. Family is from old wealth/aristocracy, all Purebloods. Also considered Blood Traitors by Death Eaters during both wars for their outspoken stance in favor of Muggleborns and Halfbloods. Very maverick family because of their fascination with Muggle culture, especially on father's side.
Kin: Father, Victor Renard, independent scholar in transfiguration, author of several groundbreaking treatises on the subject and emissary between English and French Ministries of Magic as well as Wizard/Muggle communications diplomat in French government. Mother, Odile Guerrisseur Renard, a Chief Mediwitch at St. Mungo's, and the founder of the special wing for victims of Dark Arts psychiatric wounds (in which the Longbottoms, and, eventually, Odile herself, reside). Sister, Margaret Renard, Hufflepuff at Hogwarts, and Seer.
Exceptional traits: Animagus from age four, black fox with blue eyes. Earliest (registered) of his generation, and of the century next to Minerva McGonagall. Alexis, who goes by his surname Renard, is an exceptionally sweet, intelligent, intuitively emotional young man. He avoids conflict when he can and strives to resolve it between opposing parties. He has a gift for words and analysis of complex situations and people. He is empathetic to the point of exhausting himself trying to take care of other people and their problems. He is somewhat similar to the personnage of Holden Caulfield in the J.D. Salinger novel Catcher in the Rye though he is a bit less given to brooding. He covers up negative emotions with a convincing facade of cheer and zany humor, and irrepressible energy. His nose is often glued to some novel new bit of information, often in a book, and he accidentally teaches at people ("how fascinating, DID YOU KNOW...?" ) His feelings are not easily hurt and he is laid back about almost everything except his own performance, particularly in school and work. He is profoundly loyal.
